With our 20th anniversary just around the corner, we're taking a stroll down memory lane and reminiscing about the journey we've shared. From major achievements to joyful and enjoyable events together, there are many moments we can look back on with a smile. We've witnessed growth, received accolades, and celebrated anniversaries alongside our customers, employees, and collaborators. In this blog, we reflect on the events that have shaped World Translation into the company it is today—and that lay the foundation for our future.
2005: It all started with a home office
In 2005, Ib established World Translation. The journey began from his home office, where a freezer served as his first colleague. However, it wasn't long before the company expanded. In just six months, we grew to two employees, laying the groundwork for our future.
2007: Marion and Per joined the team
Marion and Per joined the company in 2007. They quickly became integral to the heart of World Translation, playing a pivotal role in its development. Up until 2024, Ib, Marion, and Per were the company's proprietors, steering the strategic decisions that shaped World Translation to the company we know.
2010: First Gazelle Award
In 2010, our ambitions and rapid growth were acknowledged with our first Gazelle Award - a prestigious award presented annually to Denmark's fastest-growing companies. We achieved similar success in 2012 and 2014, confirming that our strategy and efforts were bearing fruit. Winning the Gazelle Award multiple times signalled that World Translation was a company on the rise.
2012: WT car at the fair
In 2012, we showcased our new company car at a trade show. Honestly, we've never seen a finer vehicle! Attending trade shows has always been a cornerstone of our strategy to engage closely with our clients and partners. These fairs allow us to initiate or continue personal dialogues—conversations that are truly valuable.
2015: 10th anniversary in Tivoli Friheden
Our 10th anniversary in 2015 was celebrated at Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus. We marked our first decade by hosting a grand reception at Hermans in Tivoli Friheden, inviting customers, partners, and employees. It was a fantastic day celebrating our first 10 years and inspiring us for the coming decade.
2018: Won Danish-German Business Award
Partnering with German companies has always been crucial to World Translation. We were therefore incredibly proud to clinch the Danish-German Business Award in 2018. This award celebrates companies that excel in enhancing business ties between Denmark and Germany. Being honoured for our work in bridging these markets was a proud moment, reflecting a core value that remains significant to us.
2022: Visit from the German Ambassador
In 2022, we were honoured with a distinguished visitor at our office - Germany's ambassador to Denmark, Prof. Dr. Pascal Hector, visited us of his own accord. We provided him with insights into how a Danish translation agency can succeed in the competitive German market. He also learned about our advocacy for greater support for and attention to German language and culture in Denmark. At World Translation, promoting linguistic skills has always been part of our mission. Our collaboration with international companies constantly reinforces the importance of conversing with customers in their native tongues.
2024: World Translation became part of EasyTranslate Group
In 2024, World Translation was aquired by EasyTranslate. The two companies' shared mission is to revolutionise the translation industry once and for all by combining the best of artificial intelligence and human skills into a single solution. This partnership strengthens our market position, making us even better equipped to support businesses in their global communication. Together with EasyTranslate, we can now offer a greater range of services and refine our processes.
The Future of World Translation
As we celebrate the past 20 years, we're also looking ahead to the next 20. Our journey is just beginning; we continue to evolve, invest in technology, and strengthen our relationships with clients and partners. With our new position within the EasyTranslate Group, we're better equipped than ever for stepping into a stronger and more innovative future.
